Group of Pictures - In video coding, a group of pictures or GOP structure, specifies the order in which intra-and inter-type images are arranged. GOP is the random access unit, which is used to declare whether the first image after a type B type I can be decoded properly in case of a random access. A group of successive frames within a video stream encoded. Each encoded video stream consists of successive GOPs, and from images that contain these GOPs from which visible images are generated.
