TTDX Configurator Version Changes Log

This is the TTDX Configurator changes log, from latest version to 2.5.0.

Version 2.8.8 - May 3, 2007

  • Added ability to create translation file from the Settings dialog (for incomplete translations)

  • Fixed issue not getting info from GRF graphics when NFO file smaller than 512 KB

  • Completely rebuilt the French translation (thanks Skiper)

  • Maximum switch range increased to fix error retrieving info from latest Nightly versions

Version 2.8.7 - October 29, 2006

  • Fixed error when reading bitswitches with a single bit

  • Added switch find feature to quickly locating switches

  • Added Serbian translation (thanks Wile E. Coyote)

  • Rebuilt the Korean translation (thanks Kim Yong)

  • CFG files created by TTDP are now erased before saving settings, instead of appending settings at the bottom

  • Categories now retrieved from the XML's "name" attribute, when available

  • The bitswitch editor window now shows bit number and internal name

  • Added support for reading and writing bitswitches with bit names, on TTDP versions with XML support

  • No error will show up when reading switches with invalid values too large to handle

  • The XML file is no longer deleted it TTDPatch version detection fails

  • Changed the native VB function to get file size with API function

  • Added option to redetect TTDPatch version, from the Options menu

Version 2.8.5 - September 19, 2006

  • TTDXC no longer bundles TTDPatch switches data, they are now created using the XML info file

  • An XML file (in spanish, from version 2.0 rev 1) will be used for TTDP versions without the XML file feature

  • Switches are placed under main categories, retrieved from the XML (when available)

  • Integrated the alpha/beta switches with the rest of the switches

  • Added proper names for all switches, except tgr* switches (up to 2.5 beta 8)

  • Non-stable switches can be highlighted (at the Options menu)

  • All tgr* switches can be hidden (at the Options menu)

  • Removed the Additional Switches feature and tab

  • The 'View online switch info' link will go directly to switches' page (when provided by the XML file)

  • The bitswitch editor window now shows main switch description on top

  • All switches now can be configured while Live Update is in progress

  • Switches.xml renamed to switches.xml.old before starting a TTDPatch update (and renamed back if update fails)

  • XML file parsing now performed completely by the msxml.dll system component

  • Improved the program's components checksum dialog, added msxml.dll to required files list

  • CFG file is no longer deleted for saving it (fixes CFG file disappearance on Win98)

  • Completed czech, finnish, german, italian, polish, portuguese, russian and spanish translations

Version 2.8.0 - August 20, 2006

  • All TTDPatch switches not provided by TTDXC are dinamically created from the XML file at the alpha/beta tab (sorted alphabetically)

  • All stable switches types and ranges are retrieved from the XML file, when available

  • Alpha/beta switches won't be available for versions older than TTDPatch 2.0.1 alpha 40

  • Special switches are now configured with popup text box (also applies to swicthes curves and mountains)

  • Default values are now retrieved from the XML file properly for all types of switches (requires XML file)

  • Default state and value for any switch can now be loaded using the the right-click popup menu (requires XML file)

  • Alpha/beta switch values are checked for invalid ranges/types, and corrected automatically (applies to all bit and range switches except 'moresteam', requires XML file)

  • Version detection is now performed without delays

  • Version number and switches description is now retrieved from the XML file, when available (file swtchlst.txt no longer created)

  • Version detection and XML removal won't be performed in case Live Update fails

  • The detection of older TTDPatch versions (prior to 2.0) is now informed with proper version number

  • Old TTDPatch versions detection will run the program visible and minimized, and ESC key wil be sent to quit it in case it hangs due to unrecognized switches

  • Switches aiboost and loadallgraphics are disabled and not saved in the CFG when using an XML-compatible TTDPatch version

  • Alpha/beta switches are now always enabled (when available)

  • Alpha/beta switches not present in the main [ttdxconfig] section will be looked up at the [additionalc] section when opening the CFG file

  • After downloading a new TTDPatch alpha/beta version, its new switches will be shown in bold at the alpha/beta switches tab

  • Switches from alpha/beta tab cannot be activated/deactivated while Live Update is in progress

  • New version switches are not added to the Additional Commands section anymore (they are created at alpha/beta tab automatically)

  • Replaced the GRF controls with toolbar and added option to add GRF files manually

  • Optimized the GRF info retrieval speed

  • Rebuilt the addition of new GRF files from drag&drop or direct download, now accepts dragging of multiple GRF files to the list

  • Overwrite of existing files is now asked before proceeding with new GRF file addition

  • Download of new GRF files now can disable or delete superseded GRF files

  • The file newgrf(w).cfg is renamed accordingly to the 'newgrfcfg' switch status when saving settings, and it's name is retrieved from the switch on file load as well

  • Corrected wrong parsing of version code for nightly revisions at the GRF Updater versions list

  • The new graphics for the GRF Updater are now stored on registry instead of temporary file

  • Corrected issues with the new TTDPatch version notifications

  • Added ability to download and install latest TTDPatch nightly versions

  • TTDPatch alpha/beta version change log now formatted and displayed as HTML page (same for nightly releases)

  • The Version Restore dialog now shows brief version description, and allows to restore nightly TTDPatch versions (added at the bottom of the list)

  • Rebuilt the news ticker items retrieval

  • Removed the title bar caption animation

  • Removed the restriction that avoided program execution from network location

  • Corrected all issues regarding files already being opened

  • Modified captions for switches signal1waittime, signal2waittime and largertownsons

  • Fixed labels on bitswitches window not showing some languages properly

  • Added link to complete partial translations at the Settings dialog (only visible for incomplete translations)

  • Added option to force english retrieval of TTDPatch switches description (requires program restart to take effect)

  • The proper warning will be shown in case CFG file cannot be saved for any reason

  • Program is now distributed with full installer (components installer no longer required)

Version 2.7.2 - January 10, 2006

  • Fixed issue not showing the first GRF for TTDPatch versions with multiple files

  • The GRF Updater no longer shows the same TTDPatch version repeatedly

  • The new graphics file name now can be changed at the Options dialog

  • Fixed absence of right-click menu on most alpha/beta switches

Version 2.7.0 - November 13, 2005

  • New GRF files smaller than 2 KB won't fail download anymore

  • When importing a CFG created by TTDPatch, value 0 is no longer interpreted as off

  • CFG files are no longer rebuilt for loading

  • All supported switches from TTDPatch-generated CFGs are now imported, including values from bitswitches

  • Switches.xml file is now created even when version detection is disabled

  • Switch aiboost will be disabled if TTDPatch can generate the XML info file

  • Parameters for all bitswitches will be retrieved from the XML file when possible

  • All alpha/beta switches types and ranges are now retrieved from the XML file; these switches will be disabled if the XML cannot be created

  • The proper warning message will be shown when trying to load another CFG during version detection

  • The Load Recommended and Reset Settings commands now apply to the active tab only

  • The Load Recommended Settings option will read all default states and values from the XML file if available (but setting the switch stretchwindow to off)

  • Improved the bitswitch settings window, now also allows to set any bitswitch to value zero

  • Fixed permanent failure to use Version Restore when the downloaded versions file is invalid

  • Connection to Internet now can be specified as Direct, Auto Detect, or Use Proxy

  • Switch disasters now treated as a normal bitswitch

  • Fixed issues when retrieving items from the news ticker file

  • Totally optimized main CFG write and read routines, as well as internal switches management

  • All popup slider values are displayed in bold

  • Fixed GRF info retrieval for some files not breaking info lines properly

  • Fixed issue not allowing to save CFG before closing TTDXC for auto update

Version 2.6.2 - June 26, 2005

  • Stable and alpha/beta switches are now sorted alphabetically in CFG file

  • No more empty lines will be saved among the additional switches

  • GRF info won't be retrieved on startup if New Graphics tab is not active

  • Corrected issue disabling TTDXC Live Update after using Version Restore

  • Corrected issue showing wrong name when installing a GRF after detecting any GRF version

Version 2.6.1 - May 14, 2005

  • Fixed issue not prompting for save settings before exiting TTDXC

  • TTDXC wont try to rebuild a TTDPatch created file when it's read only

  • Importing of a TTDPatch-created file won't add empty lines and will discard unrecognized switches

  • Fixed tab order in General section

  • Fixed error that would cause failure when installing new GRF files immediately after installing a new TTDPatch version with new grfs

Version 2.6.0 - May 1, 2005

  • Automatic download and installation of new GRF files with new TTDP versions, or from older TTDP versions at user request. The GRFs file list is updated on each Live Update process

  • Version Restore will preserve all new TTDPatch versions and allow to download and install any older version as well

  • Added Reset button at options window

  • Most range switches now use the popup slider to set values

  • All icons use shadowing under XP and the proper color depth accordingly to the OS desktop

  • Pathbasedsignalling and locomotiongui switches are dynamically converted to boolean or bitswitches accordingly to TTDPatch version

  • All type of switches from Additional Commands section are stored correctly

  • Info from GRF files is now retrieved on demand only to make startup faster

  • Corrected issues when failed to recover info from a GRF file

  • Fixed issues with the semi-transparent GUI feature

  • Fixed error that was downloading improper TTDP version when it did not exist

  • Internal optimizations of read/save file routines

  • Translated all status bar tips and processes during Live Update (complete translations only)

Version 2.5.0 - December 20, 2004

  • Range switches are now configured with the popup slider and description when moving mouse over them

  • The GUI is more clear and has more space for future switches due to the above update

  • Additional switches will be removed if the detected TTDPatch version is the same as the last one for which the switches were updated

  • The "New version available" message won't popup when the detected Patch version is the same as the latest one

  • The new graphics checksum has been rebuilt, and should avoid errors reported by some users

  • Now you can set the value of spread and latest alpha 42 wagonspeedlimits switches
